A Rocket Sniper is an enemy in The Bureau: XCOM Declassified.

Description[]

The Rocket Sniper is a Zudjari marksman equipped with a Blaster Launcher that acts as a heavy-ordinance version of a sniper rifle. These units are especially lethal due to their weapons being able to destroy light cover and seriously hurting whomever hiding behind it. To make matters worse, Rocket Snipers can come in pairs and fire long salvos of rockets that can and will ruin one's day very quickly if not dealt with quickly enough.

Thankfully, Rocket Snipers are not known for their durability, and one will go down in less shots than a standard Outsider grunt. Also, the Blaster Launchers they drop can prove useful if tougher units are expected to show up shortly afterwards.

Tips & Tactics[]

  • Rocket Snipers are fragile and cannot withstand a lot of punishment. Bringing a weapon capable of long range precision shots can make really short work of them if one knows where they are. Better yet, bring along a Recon Class agent if these foes are expected to appear.
  • If possible, try to find a way up to a Rocket Sniper's perch, as his Blaster Launcher may prove invaluable later on.
  • If spotted, one should focus on taking out any and all Rocket Snipers present in the area, as their shots can dislodge agents from cover and into enemy fire, if they hadn't killed/incapacitated them already.
  • Keep an eye out for the green lasers, and stay clear of them. Rocket Snipers usually pause for a bit before firing, which is usually sufficient for an agent to evade or score a counter-shot.

Appearance[]

Rocket Snipers are first encountered during Operation Guardian, or Signal From Beyond if one focuses on story missions more than side operations.
