– In-Game Description, XCOM: Enemy Within
- Has a 1-turn cooldown.
- As MECs cannot climb or gain access to grapple hooks, the Jetboot Module is the only way in which MECs can reach most rooftops or other areas of high ground which can be used to gain good fields of fire over a map.
- The Jetboot Module can also be used to close distance with the enemy more quickly by moving straight over normally impassable terrain, making it good for MECs utilizing the Kinetic Strike Module as well.
- Contrary to what it may seem like sometimes, the Jetboot Module does not confer a movement bonus. But due to the simplified high ground access, jumping up to a ledge at the nearest possible location to do so instead of going out of it's way to reach a slope or ramp to arrive at a higher elevation does result in the MEC being able to, in theory, potentially traverse further. Thus, as an added tactic, one might consider using it just to go far enough to reach a certain place within a specific round/turn.
