Dazed is a mental status effect introduced in XCOM 2: War of the Chosen DLC. Similarly to Stunned, Dazed disables a unit's ability to act. Dazed is inflicted by all of The Chosen; Dazed units can then be abducted from battle to be interrogated, or the chosen can extract information from them immediately. After performing either of these actions, the chosen will leave the battlefield.

Dazed can be cured by any soldier (including a SPARK) adjacent to the Dazed soldier by using the free Revive action. A Specialist can also remove the Dazed condition remotely via GREMLIN by using the Revival Protocol ability. A Mindshield will also prevent a soldier from being Dazed.

Dazed is prevented (and cured) by a Psi Operative's Solace ability. This can be greatly exploited when baiting a Chosen to use an ability that exclusively causes the Dazed status, as it wastes an action on doing nothing, if not their entire turn.

Once The Chosen is defeated or killed, the Dazed effect they caused on XCOM soldiers will be automatically lifted.

Causes[]

Dazed is known to be caused by:

  • The Assassin's sword strike.
  • The Assassin's Harbour Wave ability.
  • The Hunter's tranquilizer pistol shot ability.
  • The Hunter's Concussion Grenade.
  • The Warlock's Mind Scorch ability.
